The uninterruptable study period and complexity in high schools have remarkable exhausting footprint on students overall energy level. Some argue, that having break in between university and high school is disadvantageous, compared to ones having some break. This essay will explore both advantages and, in my opinion; drawbacks that the break time will create for those deciding to relax and make some travel and work.
A long-lasting high school education is draining a huge amount of energy from students, creating physical and mental discomfort and feeling tired. These consequences are result of heavy, and difficult subjects, tought by educational providers. For instance, compared to some subjects, there are math-heavy classes, causing students to overload their brain resources, to understand and resolve complex tasks. Having continuous learning process of such classes, making them exhausted, and need for some break time to have rest. The idea of having rest after high school may bring positive effects for those who need time to relax, and move forward to the next level of study at the universities.
Despite the positive effects, created by the gap, before starting classes at the universities, there are some detrimental concerns that can cause students to forget a lot of practical and theoretical things, when they continue their education. For instance, the first semester at the university requires skills, acquired from high school to understand more complicated, and diverse subjects that universities teach. I strongly agree, that this gap will have more negative effect by putting extra strain on students’ mental capabilities and generate various problems and feeling of confusion.
To sum up, although break time between high school and university has some positive results, the overall disadvantage outweighs them by putting the students in very uncomfortable situation of forgetting some critical skills from their school. The decision of having some gap period between those two educational periods, must be taken seriously, to avoid farther complications for the rest professional life, driven by university.
