Road accidents is a serious problem in many country around the world. Every year, many people injure or lost their life because of unsafe driving. Some people believing that raise the minimum legal age for driving car or motorbike is the best way to improve road safety. While I agrees that increasing the driving age can helps reduce accident to some extent, I believing it not the most effective solution by itself.
On one hand, raise the minimum driving age may improves road safety because older driver usually more mature and responsibility. First, young people often not have experience and may makes quick or careless decision when drive. By increase the legal age, government can ensured that driver are more emotionally stabled. Second, older driver may has a better understand of traffic rule and the danger of speed or using mobile phone while drive. For example, teenager is more likely taking risk to impress their friend. Third, wait longer before drive give young people more time learning about road safety. As result, increase the minimum age reduce risky behaviour among new driver.
On other hand, I believing other measure are more important for improve road safety. First, strict traffic law and heavy fine discourages dangerous drive. Second, better driver educate and training program teach people how drive safe before they gets a licence. Third, improve road condition and traffic system also preventing accident. Therefore, focus only on age may not solved the main cause of road accident.
In conclude, although raise the minimum legal driving age can helps improve road safety, it should not consider the best solution. In my opinion, government should combines this measure with stronger law and better educate to reducing traffic accident effective.
