Some individuals claim that the government is in charge of taking care of the elderly, however there are those who believe that families should take a more active part in it. This essay will consider both of these points of view and argue in favour of the latter.
On the one hand, some people consider that older family members should be under the control of the government, thus living in special care homes. Old people’s homes create safe environment for their lives, where they can find cosy shelter. It is clear that aged individuals need more attention as well as they can encounter health problems, which result in visiting some doctors also buying expensive medicals. For instance, recent statistics showed that 50% of death of the elderly is connected with the poor conditions. Obviously, the atmosphere at these houses are somehow satisfying for the elderly, due to the fact that there will be peers of them, additionally they will spend quality time with them.
On the other hand, it is often claimed that children’s duty in front of the parents is to protect them from all the problems that surround them in their old ages, as they did it in the past. From childhood family members must sow dense family bonds in their children’s hearts, in order to create respect and love to each other for whole of their life. The offspring will take into consideration their parents’ attitude toward them and of course will apply it. Moreover, juveniles are capable to know the characteristic features of their mothers and fathers, therefore it is desirable to keep an eye on them easily. Undoubtedly, preserving procreators in their own home around the people that are familiar to them.
In conclusion, although the government can manage to create a positive surrounding for the older people, it is still applicable that the elderly are taken care of by their family members. In my opinion, every family member’s obligation is to keep the aging people safe and healthy.
