Band 7+: Some people think that the government is responsible for the rise in obesity in children, while others think it is the fault of the parents Discuss both sides and give your opinion

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

In the modern era, where obesity rates increase annually, most people hold the view that the government is responsible. However, others believe it is completely the fault of the parents. In my opinion, adults play the most crucial role, but government policies cannot be ignored.

On the one hand, governments neglect the significance of the young generation and mostly concentrate on developing the country’s economy. For instance, the exercise facilities aimed at children, equipped in parks, are already old and destroyed. The ministry should allocate money for developing playgrounds and other facilities to protect children’s health. Additionally, adding physical classes in school is also a good idea for tackling the health issues of youngsters. That is why the nation has a responsibility for children’s health.

On the other hand, parents have a role in the increasing rates of obesity among children by allowing their children to consume too much sugar or fast food. Controlling the diet of children should be the parents’ responsibility; however, adults often fail to guide their children toward a healthy lifestyle, including controlling diet and engaging in healthy outdoor activities. However, many adults fail to provide their children with a healthy and active lifestyle because, from childhood, they do not care about their children’s health condition. Therefore, adults play a leading role in increasing obesity.

To conclude this essay, there should be intervention on the part of the government, funding sports facilities instead of focusing solely on economic development. Also, parents have issues such as overlooking the health condition of youngsters and allowing the overconsumption of sugar.
