On the one hand, ancient constructions allow people to discover the history of the previous generations. In addition, all old buildings are the only proofs for the written history sources. For example, If there were no Hermitage, it would be completely impossible to confirm that Russian royalty lived in 17th century exactly like this. Thus, the replacement of old buildings will affect not only the learning process, but also the whole history.
On the other hand, the buildings tend to destroy after a while. Obviously, the deterioration is a natural process for completely all building materials. As a result, old constructions become unreliable and even dangerous for people. Moreover, they take place in cities without having any practical purpose. Nevertheless, the space on the Earth is limited. Thus, instead of keeping unused buildings governments replace them with new ones. The reason is that new constructions allow people to implement many useful features, such as a fire alarm and a smart house system, to make their common lifes more comfortable.
In conclusion, the majority of the ancient buildings do have an essential historical value. Nevertheless, as the time passes old constructions tend to become outdated and unsafe. Thus, by using modern technologies in new buildings governments can provide citizens with reliable and safe estates.
