Some people may agree on knocking down old building instead of repairing it, but i belive that repairing an old building will give us more profit for people who lives near the building and the goverment or company that will fund the project.
For all i know, knocking down a building would cost fortunes and it is not guaranteed that it’ll be enviormental friendly. We dont only need contructions worker to knock it down but we also needs professionals on that field to make a detailed plan of how they will proceed this project. Technology is also needed for this project because we wont be able to run the plans that was made without some tools. We also cant calculate the damage it’ll cause for the environment since there will be dusts from the building and that will influence on our respiration.
On the other side, repairing an old building doesnt need a lot of money put into it. We will need some new materials to cover the old ones, we may need to redo some parts of the building that is not feasible to be used anymore for the sake of safety. But apart of that, we wont need too much fund to repair the building. For the design, maybe an old building won’t be as fancy as the modern ones that people nowdays prefer. Old structures is more likely resembles the past architecture styles and that is what’s unique about these buildings. When the time that we’re done repairing it, it will look better and it will preserve it’s own history.
