Some people believe that universities should focus on the practical side of education for future jobs; however, others think that academic knowledge is more important.
On one hand, prioritizing practical skills in universities is very important because of several benefits it provides for students. For example, practical training offers financial support since students participate in internships with companies and organizations, helping them cover their expenses. Moreover, practical skills help researchers become more efficient and experienced when they enter professional life, making them more valuable and competent workers.
On the other hand, focusing on academic knowledge by making university courses harder and more intensive can help students develop a broader understanding of their field. Furthermore, it trains their brains to function better when solving problems and helps them adapt to tight workloads.
In conclusion, both practical experience and academic learning are essential in a student’s academic journey. However, I agree more with the first point of view because, although academic knowledge is important, it is often irrelevant to real-world jobs and does not effectively prepare students to become successful workers.
