It is believed that, nowadays, the main focus of universities should be on future development rather than on past advances. Although universities should concentrate on the future as, in the 21st century, it can be beneficial for the development of universities, I believe that past advances can play a crucial role for freshmen.
On the one hand, future advances are useful for universities. In other words, by concentrating on the future development of students, institutions can be in the top positions among others, which is essential in order to have a profit from the government. Hence, a great deal of individuals around the world can be interested in that university to have a diploma. For example, the campus of New York University which is located in Dubai, held the 43rd place around the world by developing the future advances of its students. Consequently, it means that the main focus on the future can be helpful for students as well as colleges.
On the other hand, past development can play an essential role for freshmen of universities. By way of explanation, if the main focus of colleges is on the past, it can be crucial for the development of students who study at the first courses and do not understand what they should do or make. For instance, a great deal of freshmen around the world mentioned that owing to past advances, they can understand how to develop their projects. Hence, it means that the concentration of universities should be on past development.
In conclusion, from my perspective, although future development can be beneficial for universities, the main focus on past advances is essential in order to maintain the development of students.
