Some would say that animals should be let loose and free while others thinks that there are reasons that animals should be kept in zoos. I believe that such creatures should not be kept in zoos and there are many other alternatives ways to protect them.
There are many good reasons that zoos exist, one of them is to protect those wild animals and also providing entertainment or educational purposes to the community. For instance, visitors can see rare animals in a local zoo and don’t have to travel far to see them. Furthermore, endangered animal species can also be protected when kept in a zoo, if we have no zoo they would naturally die in the wildlife. Therefore, we cannot underestimate the educational purpose of zoos.
However, there are certain animal lovers that thinks keeping animals in zoo is a sign of cruelty. For example, there are several cases that these animals are kept inside a small cage and eventually die because they were kept away from their natural habitat. We also have heard frequently of news about mistreatment to animals in zoos. Therefore, caging animals is unhealthy and cruel to them.
Both view put a valid point, but I strongly believe that animals can be set free into the wildlife but also be protected by the humans. Government should close down enclosed zoos and look after their native animals.
In conclusion, even if zoos are a way to protect animals, i feel that we do not need zoos anymore and should protect the animals for afar.
