In today’s digital era, the demand for using mobile phones or gadgets has increased, while some people contend that it leads to a lessening of the face-to-face conversation. I partially agree with this view, although using phones lessen the communication bonds. However, the usage of phones or computers makes communication easier; moreover it enables people to communicate even long distances between their locations.
On the one hand, nowadays, people spend a massive amount of time on their phones and gadgets which weakens affection between them. If people use their phones for unnecessary things or actions, such as just scrolling down videos and reels; by doing so, they have not enough time for communication around the people and it leads to weakened communication bonds. Furthermore, there is a social isolation problem especially among younger generation because they are playing video or computer games excessively which would be obstacle communicating with others.
On the other hand, one of the key benefits of using mobile phones is that they help overcome geographical barriers. People who live in a long distances from each other can connect their close friends or family members through integrating phones into their conversations. For example, even presidents use phones to talk with other countries president when there are long distances between countries. Secondly, it plays a vital role in education system; for instance students and teachers can participate in international conferences and they can exchange their knowledge through this way.
In conclusion, although the loss of face-to-face communication stems from the overuse of gadgets and phones, if the phones are used correctly, it can be a good connector between people.
