Exploration of extraterrestrial intelligence (ET) is always on the government’s agenda. While a significant amount of Alien fans propose to fund space exploration, I approve of allocating limited finance to our earth’s lives.
Initiating universe detective plans will undeniably benefit our human beings in certain ways. Firstly, on the way we search for lives on other planets, we can acquire wider knowledge and identify novel resources that are useful for our daily lives. For example, understanding of cosmic radiation has proved to boost cancer treatment. Secondly, the movement of planet exploration encourages people, especially the young demographics to expand their imaginations and further inspires them to delve into projects in all science fields. Last but not least, with environmental deterioration, whether the earth is suitable for living in the future has sparked public concern. Search for a new habitat is a backup plan once our planet breaks down.
Despite of aforementioned advantages, exploring the space sounds like an unrealistic plan for the general public with some cannot even afford their livings in particular. The unstable political environment, international conflicts and poverty remain unsolved around the world. Although the affluent and prosperous minority has the right to explore what is unknown, the disharmony and issues around the world cannot vanish with ET being found. Harbouring that the fates of all humanity on earth are tied together, I believe the government should prioritize people’s living and welfare ensuring their life and happiness before funding for the universe mystery.
To conclude, ET holds a fascination for people who have fairly few concerns over their lives. Nevertheless, constrained by current economic development, spending too much money on finding ET is an unreasonable decision.
