Vehicle fuel is a natural resource that is directly linked to inflation. However, raising the cost of vehicle fuel will positively reduce some amount of pollution, but the major pollution, which is caused by the transportation vehicles, will still be emitted. I opine that raising vehicle fuel costs will not effectively curb the issue of air pollution, and people can look for different ways to improve this
To commence with, there are numerous vehicles on the road that use fuel to run, from auto, taxis, to commercial and private vehicles. However, if the cost of purchasing the fuel increases, the vehicles will still be on the road running, just with a higher cost because people eventually need to reach their destination. The transport vehicles that supply basic amenities to the grocery shops in our neighborhood will charge more for the transport. Furthermore, this rise in the cost of transportation will hike the prices of daily use items, which will increase the cost of living, and people will have to spend even more. Whilst air pollution is a pivotal issue at the moment, and it is necessary for us to address it as soon as possible, we can find alternative solutions to reduce it.
As we all know, the most prominent cause of air pollution is the burning of crops, which is a type of ritual the farmers follow in most parts of Punjab, India. The government can issue a ban on the burning of crops and give them alternate methods to fertilize their land, which is cheaper and of good quality. Moreover, there are a lot of factories that emit smoke and highly poisonous particles in the environment, without treating them efficiently, as stated by the government, which also contributes to air pollution. This can be resolved easily and effectively if there are strict rules in place and a governing body is kept to keep these in check.
To conclude, air pollution is a rising cause of problems among all living beings, and it is high time for humans to reduce it but in order to reduce if people are getting poorer, then the method being used should be discussed, and an alternate method can be used.
