In this contemporary world, stress has become very common not only among adults but also the children. It leads to all kinds of physical and mental problems. People tend worry a lot about their issues pertaining to life and some even seek professional help for the same. For this purpose, some of the experts suggest that some time from the schedule of an individual should be spent doing nothing. I completely agree with the statement as it relieves stress and calms down a person. It also helps in analysing the underlying factors which cause stress to that individual.
Most people prefer to work continuously and give little or no time to themselves. But the most important thing is that overburdening oneself would just cause harm. Thus, taking time for oneself and relaxing a bit can be very helpful in reducing the stress. It calms down a person and energizes them to perform better. For example: in many companies relaxing rooms are present wherein the employees can take breaks to calm themselves down without any judgements.
Secondly, by being free, one gets time to ponder about their problems and even have a control over their emotions and thoughts. It helps to alleviate tensions that they go through and also helps in knowing about the stressors in their life. It is a form of meditation. For example: people practice yoga to release their tensions.
Thus, taking time for oneself can never be a bad choice and thus psychologists who advocate doing nothing, as a source of stress reliever are absolutely true and I am in support of the same as it is an act of self-care and also helps with rejuvenation.
