Nowadays, many people believe that children should study academic subjects at school, while others argue that children should learn practical life skills. However, I believe that learning life skills is more valuable for everyday life.
One of the main advantages of studying academic subjects is that children can become more intellectual and receive a solid education for future enrollment. For instance, if they study academic subjects from an early age, they give themselves opportunities to study at top universities around the world in the future. Moreover, children who can solve more difficult problems at school as his/her knowledge level increases will help maintain academic performance in school. Therefore, studying at a more advanced level at school can help them build a solid foundation in their education.
However, supporters of the opposite view argue that learning life skills is more important, since children need to find out how to cook food or develop financial literacy. It can help them become independent and better understand what adult life is like. For example, children in the future will know how to allocate money more wisely and protect themselves from financial trouble. As a result, children can secure a bright financial future for themselves.
To summarize, both learning methods have their strengths. However, I believe that learning basic life skills is more useful because it not only allows us to be responsible and independent, but also gives us valuable experience and skills that will stay with us for the rest of our lives
