Many animals are being endangered with some at the verge of extinction. The major reasons behind this are habitat destruction and climate change. Protecting the natural habitat of wildlife and minimizing activities responsible for global warming are good ways to avoid this issue.
The plants and animals are highly dependent on their natural habitat as they have their own roles in the ecosystem. The environment provides food, shelter, water and interactions necessary for the survival of the living organisms. When humans destroy these spaces, the plants and animals have hard time adjusting and adapting in new areas. Often times they do not succeed in these and eventually their population declines. This is commonly especially for highly sensitive species like forest ants which may not survive in grassland ecosystem when all the forest is cleared for human settlements. On top of that, wildlife is also affected by thier environment because they interact with it namely, the temperature, humidity, precipitation, etc. of an area. These factors are changing drastically due to global warming which induces climate change. As a result, the living beings are subjected to rapid changes which can hamper their well-being and existence. For example, sees need water to germinate. Prolonged drought can kill the seeds and further generation of the species will not continue.
In order to solve these problems, the government and local communities should collaborate to protect the natural habitats. This is a sustainable way to help the flora and fauna to survive and thrive because they do it while maintaning ecological balance in the environment. For example, developing national parks to protect the wildlife and prevent human encroachment. Furthermore, adopting practices to minimize climate change is very important method in today’s era because it influences the planet’s environment. So, controlling different forms of pollution, properly managing waste products and minimizing greenhouse gas emissions are few ways to slow down global warming. These can in turn help to control the factors responsible for extinction of animals.
In conclusion, the places where the animals live and their surroundings play imprortant roles in their survival. Therefore, it is better to let them remain there by conserving the spaces and practicing activities that could trigger environmental changes over time.
