It is argued that zoological parks used for keeping animals in man-created conditions should disappear in this century. This essay completely agrees with this statement because it is cruel to trap animals in confined space and TV programs allow us to learn about these animals without the requirement of zoos.
Confining an animal in a man-made space is cruel because it violates their right to freedom. This is to say that every creature on this planet has the right to live freely wherever they want so keeping animals in an artificial environment not only snatches their right to live in a natural environment but also results in their exploitation. Being stuck in a limited space affects their physical and mental well-being which further leads to infertility among these creatures. For example, a study conducted in the USA found that cruelty and exploitation faced by zoo animals decrease their rate of fertility by 75% than their ability to produce in natural habitats.
Furthermore, the availability of other alternatives to view animals sets aside the need for zoos. To explain, zoology parks are not the only way to witness wildlife because we have other options available such as natural programs, TV channels like Discovery, and many more. A suitable example of this is a safari adventure which gives people the advantage of witnessing wildlife in the jungle even without causing any harm to them while being boarded on a safety-protected vehicle.
In conclusion, there is no need to cage animals in zoos in the 21st century because it is cruel to snatch their freedom, and TV broadcasts related to wildlife can easily cater to our need to view wild animals.
