It is a struggle to study a new language in an environment with no people to speak that language and so many believe that learning the English in a country, where majority of citizens speak it, is seemingly the best among the other ways to pick up the language. I strongly disagree with this statement as a lot of people who change their place of life with no previous learning do not improve much.
Many people think that exposure in the English speaking country is the most convenient way for studying English. Proponents of this view argue that possibility of practicing with native speakers can improve the language level faster due to the constant practice. They might also suggest that it can teach them in a natural way with no need to memorise words and grammatical structures. While it is true that it might be faster since there will be plethora of opportunities in various places, individuals who learn from native environments curb their vocabulary to ordering and buying things that cover basic needs.
On the other hand, I am in agreement with those who believe that other methods are the most suitable. For many it is more convenient to study from the comfort of their homes, where they immerse themselves in the language without the need for extra expenditure. Furthermore, the resources for English learning are widespread and the people of different ages have an opportunity to learn various topics in-depth, such as astronomy and biographies of public figures as they are more accessible in English. A prime example is Kazakhstani students who start their education of English in early grades and by graduation they can fluently speak and are accepted to prestigious universities because of their advanced levels.
In conclusion, although communicating with natives can be an effective tool, I side with those who suggest that there are other resources available that can help to develop levels of English language in a relatively quick time.
