Studying the English language in a country of native speakers is the most practical way to learn, but not the only one. I’m in agreement with this statement as there is plenty of others methods of learning the language.
Firstly, living in a country where the english language is spoken natively provides full immersion into the language. A constant practice develops confidence and listening, speaking abilities. For instance, many international students who chose to study abroad become fluent much faster because they are surrounded by the language in daily basis. As a result, it is true that studying English in a country of native speakers is the most effective method of learning the English language.
On the other hand, there are various alternative methods of learning English, including taking online courses, using language applications such as Duolingo and EWA, and immersing oneself in the language through films, YouTube videos, and podcasts. Similarly to living in an English-speaking country, consuming English media content provides regular exposure to the language and helps improve fluency. For instance, a friend of mine learnt English without moving abroad by using language apps like Duolingo and practising daily through movies and YouTube videos, eventually achieving a high level of English.
In conclusion, although alternative ways of learning English, such as self-study, courses and media, are effective, living in an English-speaking country remains the best.
