Overall, in 2008 the Environmental and Education sectors had the highest percentages of volunteers, while Healthcare had the lowest participation. Additionally, in 2014, the Environmental sector maintained its leading position, whereas Educational became the least popular choice.
In 2008, Educational and Environmental were the most notable segments of volunteerism, with 24% and 21% respectively. In contrast, Healthcare had the smallest share of volunteers, accounting for only 7%. The Sport and Art sectors also attracted significant participation, with 18% and 15%, respectively.
By 2014, the Environmental segment had become dominant, accounting for more than a third of all volunteers. The Healthcare sector experienced significant growth, more than tripling its 2008 figure to reach 25%. Meanwhile, the Educational sector underwent a dramatic decline, dropping to one-third of its 2008 level. The Sport and Art sectors also saw a decline, losing 6% and 3%, respectively and both ending up at 12%.
