Nowadays, in some urban arears, parks and outer spaces are modified into gardens where locals can grow plants. In this essay, I will explore the pros and cons of this trend and then I will draw some conclusions.
I will start by looking at the benefits of this changes. One of the major plus points of this changes is that urban people can earn money from selling fruits and vegetables to other people or to different places. Moreover, by this modification it may improve the environment by planting, and it reduce the air contamination in the metropolis. For instance, in England, the government implemented the new system that is, now free spaces are occupied by local markets which helps the people to manage their daily expenses.
On the contrary, this trend will lead to some challenging issues in the future. Firstly, parks are meant to enjoy and it act as a place that people can do their regular exercises. Additionally, children’s like to play in this places with other peers to unwind and relax, however, if demolishing these areas are tend to isolate them with smart gadgets which has detrimental effect on health. Furthermore, this development may lead to overcrowd in the urban areas, for example, in Thailand, recent changes in cities by promoting the parks into gardens for marketing place, it increases the traffic congestions as well as noise pollution because of overcrowd. But, these demerits cannot outweigh the advantages.
In conclusion, I believe that there are both benefits and drawbacks to this way of changes in cities. However, I think it has more advantages to local residents because they can earn money and it also improves the green environment.
