There are reasons to believe that reducing the working week and giving people more days off might become quite beneficial improvement. I strongly agree with this point of view, because people will have an opportunity to improve their mental health and well-being. It is also possible that workers’ productivity and focus on their assignments will increase due to declining working hours.
It is often suggested that working week should be shortened and employees should be given prolonged weekend. One major reason is that this change may lead to an improvement people’s psychological and mental health. This is because when people have long vacation, they can devote more time to pursuing their interests and pay attention on their close friends and family members more than they usually do. As a result, this recovery period might contribute to reducing chronic stress and anxiety, which in turn may minimise missing work because of workers’ health problems.
Another compelling reason is that the increased number of days off might help people to recovery their strength and emotional state which has a considerable impact on employees’ productivity during the working process. In other words, if workers feel rested, they may have a strong commitment to work, that’s why they will demonstrate the better results of important tasks. Eventually, extending the weekend might be an effective way to raise the quality of work.
To conclude, I completely agree with the statement that reducing working hours and prolonging weekend may bring significant benefits for employers for several reasons. Firstly, these changes has the potential to influence positive on people’s health. Secondly, employees’ well-being is the initial factor that results to high quality of completed work
