Despite technology’s conducive to our communications by offering a variety of methods of communication, some people argue that these advanced communication tools have caused drawbacks in our social and networking skills. This essay will examine the main causes of loss of verbal communication without the help of technology and possible solutions to this vital problem.

The two main causes of the loss of our nontechnical communication are addiction to electronic devices and the complex society. With the advancement of technology, more and more ways to communicate with others have been jumping out to us. For instance, due to the variety of communication tools and their conveniences, we have gradually ditched the traditional ways of connecting people, instead of writing letters or talking in front of each other, we have been lifting to have our social life on to the vibrant internet etc. Also, when our real world becomes more complex and difficult to deal with, our passion for communicating with others becomes exhausted. For example, with an overload of daily tasks from the workplace to educational institutions, we have been tired of talking with people since our energy has been removed from our daily arbitrary work. In other words, people’s addiction to the advancement of technology and the complex world has played significant roles in the loss of verbal communication.

Some possible solutions to this problem include promoting awareness among the people and setting a policy on phone-free in some workplaces and schools. Setting a policy on phone-free is limited and encourages talking to others actually in the workplace and school instead of texting on our phones or other devices.
