Some people believe that the increase in human life expectancy is good for business, the financial and communities. While others disagree. In my opinion, I believe that this trend has a bad influence on economy and society.
On the one hand, the aging population boots some major industry such as tourism, goods market and cosmetic industry. This is because when human’s longetivity is rised by living standard, the spiritual needs of each people will increase, they have tendency to spend a large amount of money on travel, self-care and eating out. While some elderly people like to take part in community activities like cleaning the environment, plant trees, community fitness, which bring a lot of benefit for both environment and society. For example, my grandparents usually spend their time to travel and enjoy traditional foods every summer vacation.
On the other hand, when people live longer, several related problems can be anticipated. One of them could be the decrease in labor rate. To be more specific, as people get older, their quality of health deteriorates that they unable to work. Futhermore, retirement pensions will affect on economic development because government have to spend its budget on the elderly in stead of industry, education which become the national financial burden. For example, Japan, which is the highest population aging rate has been facing a financial crisis.
In conclusions, althought this trend may bring advantage for some service, it is still a huge burden on the economy and government.
