The most effective way for a government to prepare for the future is often said to be by allocating resources to the younger generation. This essay will discuss both sides of this argument and explain why I disagree with this statement.
On the one hand, investing in young people can be advantageous. This is due to the fact that they typically possess strong ambitions, energy, and better health. Therefore, with financial assistance from the government, they have the opportunity to contribute significantly to the country’s future. For instance, a student who wins a start-up competition and receives a scholarship from the government can successfully launch their project and enter the international market, thereby promoting the country.
On the other hand, given that it is the government, it has a responsibility to all its citizens. It should strive to improve living conditions for people of all ages. This could lead to greater awareness among the population of developing their country, rather than solely worrying about their personal circumstances. For example, Finland has become known as one of the happiest countries by providing convenient and supportive conditions for raising children. Consequently, people do not have to spend all their time struggling to improve their own lives; as a result, they are more likely to consider the future of the country as a whole.
In conclusion, while investing in young people can be beneficial, it requires a balanced approach. The government should allocate its budget consciously and consider the needs of all age groups.
