In order to understand other cultures people should work for a multinational organization. I totally disagree with this statement due to various better options, such as travelling and befriending a person from that particular culture.
Travelling is one of the greatest ways to comprehend other cultures. By residing, for instance, in some place in other country, where everything is new for a traveller, people can considerably learn about that country’s culture. This might be through a small talk with a receptionist, a cleaner or a local resident. Rarely do people come back to their hometowns with no information about the place where they temporarily lived in. Additionally, cultural immersion can be done by sightseeing: museums, parks, and other historical places, where local heritage can be seen. Thus, it is inevitably guaranteed that by travelling, people can understand other cultures.
Another mean is to befriend someone, who has different background. There is an abundance of ways to find such people nowadays. With social media-one of the advanced applications to communicate in this media-driven world-users can freely find someone with similar interests. By this, they will witness cultural differences that they have and after some time of diligent and resilient work of trying to understand each other’s culture, they will eventually achieve their initial goal.
In conclusion, to comprehend other culture, working in the multinational company is not needed, as there are other better ways, such as travelling, where visiting historical sites is more than enough, and making friend from different culture, with whom people can overcome cultural barriers, understaing each other’s background.
