It is widely believed that working for a multinational corporation can be the most comprehensive approach to understand other cultures. Although this method may bring certain benefits for learners, I disagree with this notion as gaining cultural insight by visiting another country and with the help of internet sources can be less demanding and faster for learners.
On the one hand, some feel that to get enough knowledge about other cultures, people should work for a multinational organization. It can be true, in some cases, because an individual is highly likely to work with a colleague from another cultural background. During the work hours, employees may get to know each other well by communicating, sharing experiences, and also talking about their traditions. Moreover, not only do they communicate while working, but also there may be a chance to become friends, meaning that a person is highly likely to have a friend from another culture. Thus, some feel that working for a multinational business may lead workers to make acquaintances from different walks of life.
Nevertheless, this inevitability does not mean that working with a multinational organization is the only way to grasp other cultures. First and foremost, traveling to a specific nation may be a practical experience to learn about that culture. If an individual is wealthy enough to visit countries, he/she could grasp that specific tradition by living, and seeing people. In Uzbekistan, as an example, many tourists learn how Uzbek people behave, communicate, and respect others. Furthermore, with the advent of adequate internet sources, learners may easily obtain deeper knowledge about other cultures. For instance, social media platforms like YouTube and Facebook allow users to share their traditions, information about their cultures. Thus, rather than physically learning other cultures, there are enough opportunities to get even basic understanding or more knowledge to grasp other traditions.
To sum up, while working for a multinational organization may offer shallow understanding about other cultures, In my view feeling real atmosphere, communicating, and observing the way other people behave from different cultures, and learning from social websites can provide deeper knowledge.
