Band 6+: The best way to solve traffic and transport problems is to encourage people to live in cities rather than in surburbs or countryside. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Today, various transportation modes significantly impact society and are indispensable in modern living. These means of transportation play a pivotal role in enabling people’s movement.

Transportation has become ubiquitous in daily life and serves as the primary mode of travel. It is more prevalent in urban areas than in rural areas. Over time, transportation offers numerous benefits. Firstly, greater utilization of transportation in urban areas can contribute to the city’s expansion, generating revenue from public transport and fostering modernization. Secondly, the widespread use of transportation can cater to people’s future mobility requirements. Particularly, the use of public transportation can aid in reducing pollution and minimizing gas emissions, thereby benefiting the environment.

However, prolonged reliance on transportation can have adverse effects on the environment and people. Firstly, vehicles emit numerous harmful gases, contributing to air pollution, and the inhalation of these gases can lead to respiratory illnesses. Secondly, extensive vehicle usage in cities can result in frequent traffic congestion in crowded areas, impeding smooth travel in urban areas. Lastly, heavy traffic in cities can lead to increased accidents, significantly impacting residents.

In conclusion, while transportation offers both advantages and disadvantages, I firmly assert that its utilization will bring economic benefits and cater to people’s future needs.
