The data demonstrate the outcome of a survey regarding citizens’ coffeeand tea purchasing and consuming habits in five Australian cities during the last four weeks.
Overall, although in four cities the highest percentage of people went to a cafe, Adelaide residents preferred buying instant coffee more than other means of having coffee or tea. Additionally, it can be cited that purchasing fresh coffee is less popular than other ways in all five cities.
The largest proportion of individuals who went to coffee shops was in Hobart, Melbourne, and Sydney, with moderately more than 60%. Moreover, in Brisbane and Adelaide, it was around 55% and 50%, respectively.
More than 50% of Hobart and Brisbane residents preferred to consume instant coffee, and for other cities it was between 45% and 50%. Buying fresh coffee in Sydney and Melbourne was more popular compared to other cities, with near to 45%. This percentage was just under 40% in Hobart and approximately 35% in Adelaide and Brisbane.
