Nowadays, we have to reside in the world of technologies and innovations. A huge number of people have to use their phones on a daily basis due to professional needs, connection with their family and friends and entertainment. Somehow it turned out to be the most essential device in our lives, in addition, modern adolescents and children don’t know how to live without mobile phones. Is it good or bad?
In my opinion, mobile phones can be beneficial for children. First of all, parents take responsibility of children’s safety and, frequently, they make sure everything is okay by calling or texting them. Moreover, there are plenty of educational platforms, apps and videos for different interests so that children could be able to interact with them and consume useful knowledge not only from books but from worldwide sources. By having this opportunity they could broaden their mindset horizons and think out of box. Also, in my childhood I had to go to my friend’s house If I wanted to ask if they are allowed to go out, however, this is not a problem today. Children unable to get friend’s information like time of meetings, school homework and some gossips just by calling or texting them.
On the other hand, most of parents suppose that with mobile phone children began getting uncontrollably worse, and this is also true. Children who are not taught how to use their gadgets properly, probably suffer from addiction either to social media or playing video games. They tend to sacrifice their sleep and study hours on more hours of screen time and it is becoming a true obsession, not just a habit. It also cause problems with eyesight. Sometimes, children get mental issues, anxiety and self-doubts by looking at perfect pictures in the internet. But the main thing is to teach them how to take advantage of mobile phones.
In conclusion, using mobile phones by children has both positive and negative sides. I believe that, with proper control and approach to a method of applying modern technologies for younger generation could lead to high achievements and great results.
