Band 4+: The diagrams below show the life cycle of a species of large fish called the salmon. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

The maps describe the change of the central library during the 20-year period.

Overall, the library has experienced a considerable adjustment, particularly on the purpose of all spaces and its centre.

Twenty years ago, to the left of the tables and chairs, there was a room used to read newspapers and magazines. Above that, two rooms contain adult fiction books and CDs, videos and computer games. In the bottom right conner of the map, there was a children’s books room which was opposite the enquiry desk. Finally, adult non-fiction books was between the children books room and enquiry desk.

In the present, CDs, videos and computer games room has been replaced with a room divided into two parts including storytelling and children ‘s fiction books. The enquiry desk has been expanded to a cafe room. The area used to be the adult non-fiction books room has been converted into a adult fiction books, information desk and three seft-service machines. Besides, a lecture room has been constructed in the position of children’s books room. Room oposites the lecture room has been extended to a room providing storytelling events and children’s fiction books. Adult fiction books room has been replaced by all reference books room. Next to the reference books room is computer room. Especially, the tables and chairs in the centre of library have been disappeared.
