The diagram illustrates how a wind turbine is set up and where it can be placed.
Generally, although the design for the tower seems to be simple for harnessing renewable energy, its installation’s cost may vary according to its location.
A typical wind turbine is made up of five main components, which are blades, wind sensor, generator, steel tower and computer. When wind flows across the blades, usually built of fiberglass or wood, it causes the rotation of blades. As a consequence, the motion allows the generator to turn, which results in producing 1.5 megawatts of electricity. The wind sensor detects speed and direction of the wind and sends the data to the computer on the ground. The computer then fix the route and attitude of the blades so that the electricity can be generated all the time without having any difficulties. The steel tower acts as a pivot, grounded firmly.
The electricity manufactured by the wind machine can be different depending on its location. The highest the wind speed, the highest the electricity can be. The onshore tower receives the maximum wind strength compared to the offshore. As a result, the electricity manufactured by the onshore is larger than the offshore. However, the scenery is spoiled on the uphill. As for a home turbine, the amount of electricity generated is relatively small, which is only 100 kilowatts.
