These days, governments are putting more effort into the education of students, spending vast amounts of money. However, some individuals argue that it is better to invest in leisure activities for the youth. From my perspective, education is the primary field that needs more attention and funding from authorities.
First and foremost, if people focus on gaining knowledge as well as gaining experience, they become more educated citizens of society. As a result, the country is more likely to develop its economy considerably and gain prestige on the global stage. For example, if individuals studying robotics invent robots specialized in household chores, many people worldwide will purchase them, paying significant amounts of money. Therefore, a country’s development depends on the education of its youth and future generations.
Moreover, people are currently living in an era where they face various problems such as global warming, air pollution, and famine. The more sophisticated individuals become, the fewer issues are present on Earth. Intellectual scientists strive to tackle global problems by analyzing data and providing relevant solutions. As one of the world’s most prominent leaders, Nelson Mandela, said: “Education is the best weapon to change the world.” While funding leisure activities can improve personal development, this investment is not as profitable or beneficial as investing in education.
In conclusion, based on what has been discussed above, funding education is preferable to supporting leisure activities financially. Investment in education always pays off in the long run.
