Globalisation has become increasingly common as multinational companies expand their businesses around the world. While globalisation brings several benefits, it also causes some problems. Therefore, I only partly agree that it produces positive effects for everyone.
On the one hand, globalisation has contributed greatly to economic development. The presence of multinational companies helps boost international trade, allowing countries to exchange goods and services more easily. As a result, consumers have more shopping choices, from food and clothing to technology products from different parts of the world. This variety not only improves convenience but also raises people’s standard of living. In addition, globalisation encourages cultural exchange. People can experience foreign food, music, movies and lifestyles, helping them understand different cultures and become more open-minded.
On the other hand, globalisation also brings drawbacks that cannot be ignored. First, multinational companies often take business away from local companies because they have more resources, better technology and lower prices. This can harm local economies and even cause small businesses to close. Moreover, when multinational companies promote similar lifestyles around the world, people may gradually lose their traditional customs. This leads to a reduction in cultural diversity. In the long run, the strong influence of foreign brands and values may erode people’s cultural identity and weaken their connection to their own heritage.
In conclusion, although globalisation provides economic benefits, greater choices, and cultural exchange, it also threatens local businesses and reduces cultural diversity. Therefore, I believe globalisation brings both positive and negative effects, and its benefits do not necessarily apply to everyone.
