In 2000, the number of cars in Britain was approximately 29 million. Some argue that more green vehicles should be introduced and there must be special laws regarding the usage of cars. I agree with this opinion, however, in my point of view, the laws should not be too strict.
It is crucial for governments to support environmental initiatives connected to new transportation types. If the car ownership is not controlled, people might face extreme pollution which can cause various health problems. For example, in Samara, there are thousands of children who suffer from heart and lungs diseases because of the smog that covers most parts of the city.
Laws concerning use of vehicles also play a big role in conservation. In my opinion, the most important thing when creating such laws is to not make them too sctrict. If the expectations of the British law-makers are too high, people may start protesting against new policy. However, the laws also cannot be too simple, for instance, affecting only a small number of cars, as the part of population concerned about environmental issues will be unhappy. To my mind, it is important to find a balance, so most of the British people can be satisfied with the law. This could be done by conducting online surveys or by interviewing usual people.
