Amidst the growing population and increase in number of vehicles, the demand for oil and gas has increased drastically. According to few individuals, the increasing demand should be fulfilled by constructing refineries in remote areas. This belief has seen a positive impact on population. The advantages and disadvantages are discussed below in upcoming paragraphs.
Eventually, the demand of oil and gas has increased over the time due to increase in population, househlod usage and, variable use in vehicles and various manufacturing industries. Due to which remote areas are suitable loactions to start the oil refineries due to many reasons. The possibility of finding this resource will be easier , as there is high availability of natural resources in forest. This will not affect the population as the area resides away from the centripetal point of the city. The establishment of mining will require many qualified and un-qualified proffessionals, which will gradually lead to employment for people. For instance, ongc is oil and gas cooperative built in hazira, a remote area away from surat close to sea port. So, building a oil refinary here, had not only increased the empolyement but was also leaving the city unaffected.
Moreover, this will lead to urbanization, as the remote area will not be affiliateed with all the facilites, which will eventually, cause in development of the area accompained with the route of the area. For example, if a production site is developed 20 to 50 km’s away from city, then the transportation service can be introduced or a miniature biome could be created by the company for thier staff consisting of various facilities like education for kids, everyday household stores and many more.
Over the time, this would effect the population and world negatively. The remote areas are commonly having trees and animals. So, this will not only remove the vegetation but also destroy the habitat of wildlife species. The removal of vegetation would lead to many natural problems like uneven seasonal change and global warming. Some of the remote areas are playing the role of mini world for some tribal community. Due to this, they will be exposed to normal world having difficulties in their living.
In conclusion, there is positive pattern in exploiting remote areas as it leads to various advantages like; better availability of reasource, increase in employemnet and urbanization. There should be alternate resource found in place of oil and gas for their respective usage.
