There is an opinion that the government had better invest money in promoting sport and art in school in lieu of devoting to professional ones in communities. From my perspective, I totally disagree with this viewpoint for several reasons.
Advocates of this belief may argue that the investment will directly improve the well-being and artistic expertise of students, ensuring helpful adults for the society in the future. This can be witnessed in the prosperity of many countries like the US or Japan, which places emphasis on promoting sport and art for pupils. However, this line of reasoning is not necessarily true in some senses, considering the scientific fact that people’s health gradually decline as they age, especially those who lead a sedentary lifestyle. If the government pays no attention to promoting sports and exercises, the strength condition of the workforce will be weakened constantly, hindering the national development.
On the other hand, professional sports and art events in communities undoubtedly provide the masses with significant benefits. Firstly, as these events take place in open areas with numerous participants and audiences, they potentially promote social interactions amongst individuals, enlarging people’s relationship circles and strengthening the social bond. This is especially urgent in cities where there is a popular practice of individualism which is mainly caused by its characteristic of the fast-paced lifestyle. Additionally, the celebration of art events can contribute massively to the national economy. This is because such events will attract influxes of visitors to the region, consequently granting financial chances and potential developments of various life aspects.
On balance, although emphasizing sports and art in school can offer certain benefits, sponsoring professional events related to sports and art in communities should be regarded as equally crucial given the aforementioned advantages.
