The line graph illustrates the number of students from the US, the UK and Australia who studied in universities in other countries from 2002 to 2007.
Overall, the number of students from the US studying in universities in other countries fluctuated over the period, while the figure for the UK and Australia decreased and stayed unchanged respectively. It is also clear that the figure for the US had the highest level in all years, while the opposite was true for Australia.
In 2002, the number of undergraduates from the US studying in foreign countries started at 48000 compared to 30000 of the UK. However, the figure for the US decreased to 45000 by 2004 and increased steadily to 50000 by 2007, dominating the chart by a wide margin. In contrast, although remaining unchanged by 2003, the number of students from the UK studying in foreign universities then declined dramatically to over 20000 in 2007.
Regarding the figure for Australia, the number of students who studied inn foreign universities remained constant at 10000 during the period from 2002 to 2007, which was significantly lower than that of the UK and the US.
