Band 5+: The increasing reliance on social media for news consumption has led to a decline in critical thinking skills among young adults. What are the reasons for this trend, and what solutions can be implemented to promote media literacy and responsible online engagement?

In recent years, there are certain doubts regarding the authentication of news coming from the social media. Excessive consumption of news on social media becomes one of the major a threat, which cause decrease in logical thinking and ability of making fundamental decisions. This trend creates serveral challenges like authenticity of news and easy manupulation. The only solution is to form an organisation for the regulation of news on internet.

One of the major problem is the authenticity of information due to which people are not able to get the actual new on social media channels. Furthermore, it also creates a confusion among individuals that which information is relaible or trust worthy, which eventually cause credable sources who are trying to give correct information. Secondly, due to lack of control on social media it becomes an easy way to manupulate the society. You can easily creates a positive or negative narrative of someone just by providing false information consistently and by the passage of time people will start believing that without authenticating the source of information.The best solution is to create a strong and effcient regulation authority just to look after channels on internet. They should be authorized to take severe action against all the culprits who are spreading false information and cause a decline in critical thinking and informed decision-making by consumption irresponsible news.

In conclusion, authentication of information and manipulation of people mind is the major cause of false news channels and the only solution if to create a strong authority who organise and broadcast real news after verification.
