Undoubtedly, with the rapid development of economies and countries, the associated pollution has sparked widespread concern in recent years. Whereas some people look upon pollution from cars to be the primary cause, others refer to it as just one of the main reasons. As for my perspective, I am in favor of the latter, and the reasons will be thoroughly elaborated on as follows.
Once cars are considered as the main cause of global warming, the government and societies may invest tremendous amount of money and resources to tackle this problem, and potentially overlooking the other significant contributors to global warming. In other words, cars are only one of air pollution reasons, another significant contributor to air pollution is the manufacturing factories. Take Taiwan as an example. The enormous amount of manufacturing factories is located in the middle of Taiwan, and the figures of carbon emissions and greenhouse gases in these cities indicate severe environmental consequences.
Owning to the lack of sufficient trees to absorb carbon emissions and create oxygen, deforestation is also a critical factor contributing for global warming. In certain developing countries, the government will sacrifice these natural environments in pursuit the development of the economy, resulting in negative consequences and foster global warming. Based on a study conducted by National Taiwan University, in 2023, more than 80% of individuals confessed that deforestation is one of the essential causes of air pollution. They also agreed that the government should take effective steps to mitigate these situations and create a sustainable environment for our offspring/future generations.
In conclusion, based on the aforementioned, the main pollution causes of global warming are not only from cars due to other major reasons, such as manufacturing factories and deforestation. The government and societies should not put all resources and investments solely to tackle the car problem only, or global warming cannot be solved effectively.
