It is true that the population of elderly individuals these days is much higher than that in the past. This trend would create certain benefits, but there will also be some drawbacks.
On the one hand, it is clear that the increase of old-age people would bring about several advantages. One evident strength is that elder people help younger people in many aspects of life. To explicate it, the elderly have more life experience compared to the youngsters, which make them perfect decision-makers and great influencers. They share knowledge they have gained during their lifespans in order to tutor and mentor youth. As a result, the path to success for the young will shorten and the failure in their life will reduce. Another advantage is that aged people have influence on society. Although there are many young people taking part in community services and volunteer work, they are busy earning money. Therefore, older people are the ones who have time to spend on these activities, which helps more people in hard conditions. Moreover, acting regularly also benefits their health.
On the other hand, there are some obvious disadvantages that would arise. First, the growth of population of aged people reduces the job opportunities for the youngsters. A number of campanies do not hire youth because they think older employees have more experience than younger workers. Second, a dramatic increase in the proportion of old people put a burden on health system. They have more possibilities suffering from various health problems such as high blood pressure, diabetes, stroke or heart attack rather than others. Consequently, a large percentage of public funds spend on health services, which could have been used in other crucial advancement.
In conclusion, there are plus points to the rise of old nations but there would also be the downside emerging consequently.
