Bikes, as a primary source of transportation was used by significant proportion of population but this trend is decreasing day by day. The main reasons of this are car preference and development of public transportation. This issue can be solved through encouragement towards bike usage and price cutting.

There are several causes of this, but the predominant one is more preference to cars. These days, youngsters do not like to travel by bikes, as they think that it lowers their status and they use cars to show – off. They prefer cars more than bikes, even they have to go to nearest places and if they have to go alone. Apart from this, development of public transportation is the another reason. The quality as well as quantity of public transportation have improved which allow society members to use this instead of their own vehicles. Also, the public transportation is cheaper than private ones.

The first thing that should be done to solve this problem is to encourage the individuals to utilize their bikes while travelling alone by describing the ill effects of cars. Secondly, the reduction in costs of the bikes will also deter this problem. To elaborate, if the price of purchasing bikes reduce then people will start using it as they can easily afford it.

In conclusion, the usage of bikes reduced due to enhancement of public transportation and prioritization of cars. Therefore, this problem can be tackle through cost reduction of bikes and encouragement towards this source.
