Overall, at the beginning of the period drama was the least viewed genre and stayed at the same position 4 years later. While, action was the most significant genre. In comparison, at the end of period action still remained the leader.
Starting with the rising categories, romance accounted for 19% in 2008, and increased by 3% in 2012. Watchers of science-fiction and drama were 17% and 5% and both had a slight growth of 2% after 4-years period. However, drama still remained the slightest position. At the beginning of the period, comedy made up 16%, then it reached 21% in 2012. Comedy had the largest percentage of expansion among these genres which accounted for 5%.
Action, which comprised almost a third of views in 2008, fell to 23%, but after the 4-years period stayed as the leader. Thriller had the same trend as action, both decreased by 6% in 2012. Initially, thriller was 14% in 2008 and declined to 8% in 2012.
