With the rapid development of technology and the interner, it has become increasingly common for people to work, interact, and shop with others virtually, particularly in Europeab countries. While the internet may save time, I believe that this trend brings significant disadvantages.
There is no denying that the internet has made our lives significantly easier. When people use online platforms for daily activities such as shopping, they can purchase goods conveniently from home without spending time travelling to physical stores. Consequently, this allows them to use their time more productively and efficiently. What’s more, instead of travelling to meet others, people can easily use social media applications to stay connected with their friends or family. This, in turn, helps them spend more quality time together, regardless of geographical distance, leading to supportive and healthy relationship. Additionally, shopping becomes much easier via the internet. To elaborate, there are online websites where individuals can order whatever they want with a single swine.
However, in my opinion, the internet does more bad than good in terms of health and personal growth. When individuals use the internet excessively, namely scrolling through social media, they become glued to their phones and waste their precious time rather than studying or exercising. As a result, not only will they become isolated due to the less social spent time but they also, particularly students can get distracted from their studies. For instance, people who regularly look at screen, have higher chance of getting diseases like eye strain or headache in the long term.
In conclusion, although the internet has made shopping and communication more convenient, I believe its negative effects on health, productivity, and social interaction outweigh these benefits. Therefore, the increasing reliance on the internet is a trend that brings more disadvantages than advantages.
