In recent years, with the fast development of technology, more and more communication apps have been created in order to contact each other and do their work more easily without arriving directly at their company. But that does not mean the old way—doing tasks directly at the company—has gone. Though, it still wastes a little time for most everyone. In this essay, we will discuss more about this problem.
To begin with, we will talk about the benefits first. In reality, technology has really helped us a lot these years. With video meeting platforms like Zoom, Skype, Teams and messaging apps such as Zalo, Messenger, WeChat, etc., we can meet each other more easily to discuss not only our work, chat, and call with friends, families, or colleagues whether we need to or feel busy and need time to relax. But that also means we can feel free to work at home or wherever we want without coming directly to the company and under much time pressure. It is really convenient and saves a lot of time for everyone.
On the other hand, this still brings some disadvantages that can affect both the personalities and working productivity of a person or a group in some companies. Sometimes, doing given tasks at home could make some people feel bored, lonely, or easily less concentrating on work, therefore decreasing the result of their work. Even worse, they may get less salary or be dismissed under strict monitoring by the manager and boss. Next, when the internet in some areas is bad, some people cannot connect well to join the meeting, so they cannot interact online with other members about the current work, making difficulties for everyone.
In conclusion, while working at home brings some benefits, it also has drawbacks. It is important to find a balance and choose the best working style for each person.
