It is widely acknowledged that shopping habits are affected by several factors. Some people argue the main factor is which age group they belong to. I am convinced with this view and will present the reasons why certain age groups have different tendencies for buying things compared to others.
One major reason is people at different ages also have different priorities which has an impact on what they purchase. Along with the time, people will have more things to buy compared to when they were younger. Teenagers and adults for example, the two groups have different necessities, where teenagers have less shopping because they still depend on their parents and their daily needs most likely related to entertaiment such as hanging out or purchasing clothes . On contrast, adults especially those who have built a family, not only they have more categories for shopping but also their focus are shifting. Instead of spending money for entertaiment, they will prioritising bacis needs such as grocery or buying home furniture.
Another reason is that individual at certain ages has their peak of shopping habits that significantly different with other ages. People at the age of 20s to 30s have more spending because they are in their productive era. In addition, they usually already has an income, which makes them financially freedom to purchase something. For instance, an office worker use their budget to support their career. Sometimes they need to buy formal clothes for their work, or in order to gain new skills, they regist to a specific course.
To conclude, shopping habits are significantly impacted by age groups. This is because each groups has their own priority for shopping. Beside that, individual who are in their age of productivity has more necessities to fulfill.
