There is prevailing notion that the use of cell phones should be as forbidden as smoking because of their similarities in antisocial behavior. From my perspective, I am not alignment with this statement.
For a variety of reasons, mobile phones should be banned because it interrupts the social communication and has numerous negative impacts. Firstly, it might be explained by the fact that using the phone while transmission is considered impolite and rude. In other words, it interferes with connection between people similar to smoking, which annoys people around due to the complication by secondhand smoking. Additionally, using cell phone in public places such as hospital or library may disrupt the quiet space like the cigarette irritating others.
However, banning phones similar to smoking is unreasonable. In the context of the digital age, the telephone plays a crucial role in communication and looking up information, especially in case of emergencies. For instance, individuals can call immediately to ensure being safe or receive significant notifications which relate to task. Consequently, prohibition of using cell phone may lead to the disadvantages in personal life and work. Futhermore, it should be noted that smoking influence both smokers and others around them, but using phone only impact minimum for user’s heath. Indeed, smoking is banned because of its heath risks. By contrary, the use of mobile phone does not cause those risks that are compared to smoking. For this reason, removing the phone in the certain places is not conform.
In conclusion, for the reason I have mentioned above, I strongly believe that telephone shoud not be banned like smoking because it is essential for communication and does not create the hazardous threats.
