Band 6+: The working week should be shorter and workers should have a longer weekend Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

An emerging view is being widely discussed nowadays, which encourages companies to have less working days in a week and prolongs the weekends. This essay strongly agrees with this view. Not only this will provide more rests for the overworked workers, but it will also create more free time for them to create work-life balance.

One of the common things done by most workers during the weekend is resting. The energy spent on their daily works needed to be recharged, so they can be more focus during their works on the following week. The recent research conducted to office ladies shows that those who are well-rested and have good meals on the weekends will have more ideas and be more productive compared to people who rest inadequately.

Another benefit for supporting this idea is people can have extra time to do their hobbies and promotes healthy relationship especially those with families. They can enjoy traveling with their kids or going out to the restaurant with friends. It will lessen the stress and pressure accumulated throughout the week, subsequently provides healthy balance between work and pleasure. In some countries, workers who spend only 4 days working in a week tend to be more productive than those who need to go to the office during the weekends.

In conclusion, I believe that if the idea of working less in a week is implemented, it will bring more productivity and helping people to enjoy their life more. The balance between work and leisure needs to be realized, hence will bring greater benefits, not only for the staffs, but also for the companies.

It is often said that urban green spaces are a luxury that cities cannot afford given the pressing need for housing and infrastructure. However, others contend that such areas are essential for the physical and mental well-being of city dwellers. Discuss both sides and provide your opinion.

It is often argued that urban green spaces, particularly in densely populated cities, should be replaced with residential buildings to address the growing demand for housing. This view is partly justified, as rapid population growth and increasing urbanisation have intensified housing shortages. However, I believe that preserving green spaces is equally important because they contribute […]
