Band 6+: The world's natural resources are consumed at an ever-increased rate. What are the dangers of this situation? What should we do?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

In recent years, the global natural resources are being overexploited and over consumed by humans. This essay attempts to shed light on the detrimental impacts of this negative tendency before clarifying several viable solutions that should be adopted to tackle them,

There are 2 major issues attributable to the overexploitation of natural resources. First and foremost, this phenomenon is having an adverse bearing on the environment. For instance, burning fossil fuels such as coal could release greenhouse gasses, like Carbon dioxide, therefore causing the contamination of air in the atmosphere and negatively affect the human respiratory systems. Furthermore, as the human consumption on natural deposits increases, there will be more waste being discharged to the water sources. In fact, running a factory could result in the generation of industrial waste, and the release of these disposal will then be conducted, and thereby will pollute the lakes, rivers and oceans.

To combat these worrying troubles, the following essential steps should be taken. The first measures it to establish strict policies to limit the exploitation of these minerals. By doing this action, there will be a positive impact on managing the amount of these deposits being mined, hence would reduce the contamination to the environment. Another remedy is to encourage and advertise the usage of renewable energy sources. This is due to the fact that this kind of energy not only minimizes human reliance on fossil fuels, but also introduces and develops alternative energy sources, and consequently could both handle the impact on the environment and guarantee for a stable development of humanity in the future.

In conclusion, there are a host of repercussions attributable to the overconsumption of the Earth’s materials, and it is crucial that the aforementioned measures be implemented to mitigate these issues.
