It is sometimes believed that income is the primary ground to encourage employees to continue contributing to their company. Although I acknowledge the role of money in this situation, I still firmly disagree with the belief as, to me, employees’ development and enthusiasm are the more reasonable explanations.
Those who advocate the view that people keep working for the same organization due to financial purposes may point to the fact that money is the cornerstone of society and that high salary may contribute to one’s social status. Regarding the former, well-paid jobs could help a lot in maintaining a quality life, for a simple reason that money is the basic requirement to any aspects in life. For instance, when it comes to traveling, the higher price tourists can afford, the etter and more valuable service and accommodation they are offered. Another reason can be taken into consideration is that a generous salary will be advantageous to improving individuals’ social position. This is simply because it is typically seen as an acknowledgement and appreciation of the employees’ contributions, which partly helps employers retain their staff.
Meanwhile, in my opinion, what employees can learn from gaining experiences in those businesses and the ability to keep workers maintaing great passions, are more important factors for people to cherish while working there. Chief among these is the career growth and work development involved throughout the time working for the company. To be more specific, a clear path for advancement and professional development are indisputably beneficial to employee retention, which is resulted from the fact that such improvement makes people ensure their long-term goals and stay at the company. Another point worth mentioning is that workers are expected to find job satisfaction to maintain their performance. An open and supportive working atmosphere, for example, enables people to enhance the output of the work, lead to higher job satisfaction and incentivize employees to devote to the company.
In conclusion, it is understandable that some workers take earnings as the top priority to stay loyal to their firms. However, I take the view that money is not the utmost reason and that ability improvement and passion are considerably more essential.
