It is thought that there are a majority of ways to engage a person into working for the same company, while some believe that the main reason is money. I firmly disagree with the statement, because financial advantage cannot replace the value of mental health in the work and it might cause the underestimation of work values.
Firstly, promised financial stability as the primary source of motivation cannot replace the sense of satisfaction with the working environment. The sense of satisfaction, concerning personal preferences of work atmosphere, may have a beneficial impact on psychological relief and mental well-being. Consequently, many individuals whose main concern is money might not be able to cope with accumulated stress from the lack of deep motivation. As an example, such mental health disorders as anxiety, depression and even physical illness can be partially associated with the inability to be satisfied with the work conditions.
Secondly, choosing money and financial stability as the reason for involvement into work processes might underestimate work values in the society. To clarify, work values include the level of sincere commitment to the work community and the amount of time which can be contributed towards achieving shared goals. These days, because of the mentioned issue people do not consider such values that maintain the work ethics in the society. Thus, I strongly believe that the level of unemployment or instant dismissal might increase due to this problem.
To conclude, I believe that finances should not be the only and main reason for working, as the psychological health connected with the workplace, and social work values are more significant reasons to be truly motivated.
